Dana Hull at Blooberg unveiled a new Tesla Powerpack agreement with a Hawaii Public Utility and Solar City. The 13 MW solar and battery storage appicaiton still has to be approved by the state regulator.

The deal with SolarCity and KIUC gives some momentum for Tesla Energy, and Musk has said utility-scale deals could be 80 percent to 90 percent of sales for the business unit. The company’s Powerwall battery, which can be installed in home garages, has generated enormous interest from consumers.

This is amazing and it's California, but how cool. The Antelope Valley Transit Authority (AVTA) (north metro LA) will have an all-electric commuter bus fleet with a return-on-investment of $46 million versus diesel vehicles. Wow.

BYD will deliver a variety of e-bus models, including a 40-foot low-floor transit bus, a 60-foot low-floor articulated bus and a 45-foot commuter coach, each with a range of more than 160 miles. BYD will build the e-buses at its facility in Lancaster, California.
