Nissan's Leaf New Look for Japan
Catching up on the Tokyo Auto Show last month and really was struck by the Nissan Leaf's new design at the show, see above. It's called the Nissan LEAF Aero Style and the Australian Car Guide media outlet described it as such:
The car features a new look front bumper with built-in LED daytime running lights, side sill protectors and a rear air diffuser. It also adds new look 17-inch aluminium-alloy wheels with a special blue accent to give the car a unique feel.
This looks like a winner for the low-entry, EV car category and U.S. Nissan dealers have been clamoring for a "facelift" to the Leaf. At the most recent Plug-In Day back in September in Chicago, Nissan was providing Leaf test drives and the rep during my test drive was wondering when a new design was coming from Nissan. He added the current design does grow on people when they see the car in person, but it has been three years now since a design change.
According to InsideEVs, the Leaf Aero Style will be sold in Japan this month. Should be fun to watch the strategy for entry into the American market.
